Something Like This Design is an experimental creative studio started by Trygve Faste and Jessica Swanson.   Trygve has an MFA in painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art where he was later an interim Artist in Residence running the MFA painting program in 2005.  He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Product Design Program at the University of Oregon.  Jessica has an MFA in sculpture from the Art Institute of Chicago and has taught at many colleges and universities in Washington, Oregon and California.  Their goal is to create thoughtful functional designs that stem from their interest in the nexus of design and studio art.

“We are constantly describing new ideas together and 'something like this' is a phrase that comes up a lot as we think, sketch and build, so it seemed like an appropriate name for the studio". -Trygve
